Unlike her name, Founder Summer Priest isn’t a white collar wearing person at the front of a church in the hot season. No, she is a bookkeeper. But not the tie-wearing, comb in pocket type. She’s an ambitious business builder and personal development junkie who believes that better books means better business.
Driven to support leaders who value sustainable gains over rapid transformation, Summer’s bookkeeping house has a deep focus on collaboration, evolution and a commitment to legacy.
Her legacy is for her daughter, Bowie. Who was almost 6 months old when Summer started OH NINE (the OG namesake – born in the 9th month of the year, and Summer on the 9th day).
Summer’s vision is for OH NINE to be the go-to bookkeeping house for visionaries in Australia.
THE LAUNCH
Early OH NINE days were ‘yes’ to all, and beyond scope. It was about the fix. To save new businesses. To rescue. And truthfully, it burnt us out. We’d take on too much and overcommit. Overextend. Overload. Classic ‘yes person’ energy.
THE REFINEMENT
We dialled our services back in. Still with scope creep, but with less. A work in progress always, but in many ways it allowed us to help business owners more. As they grew, we did too. We began to operate as a team with clients.
THE SHIFT
OH NINE began strictly working with design and construction. This was a natural progression, since Summer has a background that exposed her to the industry. Naturally, we began connecting with larger organisations. New energy.

How did I go from childcare to bookkeeping? I was looking for an admin role, ended up at OH NINE, fell in love with bookkeeping, got qualified and never looked back.
For me, bookkeeping isn’t just about keeping numbers in line. It’s about giving business owners the clarity and confidence to grow. I love being a part of that journey – helping clients not just run their business, but build it.

Call me cliché, but I’m a French Fry obsessed college graduate from small town America who loves videography. When I started my media company, I fell in love with numbers and business. Combining the two everyday while helping others chase their dreams? It’s a dream come true.
